  The Matrix Reloaded

"I didn't come here to tell you how this is going to end.
I came here to tell how it's going to begin..." Neo

In the second chapter of the Matrix trilogy, freedom fighters Neo, Trinity and Morpheus continue to lead the human rebellion against the robots and The Agents to free more minds from the Matrix. As the number of free humans grows, the battle moves towards Zion, the last real-world city and center of human resistance.

Neo and the rebel leaders estimate that they have 72 hours until 250,000 probes discover Zion and destroy it and its inhabitants. As they start their quest to save the human race from extinction they are joined by new comrades, there are those who cast doubt that Neo could truly be The One to destroy the machines and free the human race.

At the beginning the Oracle tells Neo that there is trouble ahead, and that People have to be very strong in the days ahead. At first he doesn't understand exactly what she means, until all hell breaks loose and the agents begin attacking. The Agents, a familiar enemy from their past resurfaces as a far more powerful threat.

Our heroes have to unleash their arsenal of extraordinary skills and weaponry against the agents; here we see some of the zero G kung fu, but instead of using typical agents the omnipotent machines are using Virii,

The Virii are different from the agents, they affect the matrix substantially, creating things as they wish just as Neo can, but by doing so they also infect the matrix itself and it is slowly falling apart. In other words the Virii are bad for the Matrix, but the agents believe it is the only way to flush Neo and the other rebels out.

This is nicely illustrated by the fire hydrant in the phone booth. (spoiler guard, to reveal move your mouse over)

The job of the Virii is to infect Neo, so that he can't fight or move inside the matrix. They succeed and Neo has the leave the matrix, unable to re-enter until the virus is stopped. At the same time the Virus has the exact opposite effect on Trinity and Morpheus as they can’t get out.

Back in the real world, Neo has to find a way to hack into the matrix so he can get back and save Morpheus and Trinity before they are killed.

With the aid of Morpheus's girl friend Niobe and others from Zion, he attempts to hack the Robots main CPU to get rid of the Virii, while at the same time fending off the relentless robot hordes.

Stack in the Matrix, Trinity and Morpheus try to survive the constant attacks from the virii and agents, making the re-entry of Neo into the matrix a race against time.

As time goes by the virii, becomes more and more uncontrollable and at the end decides to destroy the matrix. The Agents cannot allow this to happen if they don’t want to loose their entire crops and mainframe, so they have to fight against the virii as well. (spoiler guard)

After Neo learns more about the robots history and what the matrix REALLY is, is he able to hack back into the matrix to kick some ass in Zero G style. (spoiler guard)

There is one more thing about the virii, like any real virus, they multiply and multiply until there are hundreds of them. In one scene, Trinity cuts off one of their arms, only to see the arm growing back and the arm on the floor to become a new virus. (spoiler guard)
