| "Plot didn't have the same feel as the first, but then again I think its because the original Matrix movie was meant to be one movie, then this one is only supposed to be the first half of a big one. Anyways I still enjoyed it. It also left me with a lot of questions, good questions, the ones that you could discuss with your friends the next day at work. Fight scenes were good, lets face it THE FIGHTS AREN'T MEANT TO BE REALISTIC, obviously none of us here can fly through the air during fights. So anyone who was dogging that aspect of the movie can consider themself lost. Haven't you guys been paying attention? The reason why Neo can do those things is because hes 'The One'. Its like you guys watched the movie in mute and totally didnt get it. Anyways aside from a few scenes I totally enjoyed it. The love scene with Neo and trinity, and the dance scene did not really seem to fit in with this movie. However, it was only a small part of a great movie. " |

I'm going to see it again to see if I missed something, but I'M CONFUSED!
I saw this first one. Loved it! I'm just confused on what the movie tried to accomplish. M2 definitely missed some very key points trying to leave some suspense for m3. For instance, the fight scenes with neo were entirely to long. The last movie has a wonderful way of combining plot & action. This one just didn't do it. I missed the trailors at the end so I missed something very crucial." |

| "A Matrix within the matrix, The real world was in fact a part of a different level of the matrix. I mean how else could Neo stop the sentinels, he cant do that in the real world, only in the matrix, so the real REAL world is yet to be discovered. I cant wait till Nov 5th, Nov 6th, I'm good to die." |

Just saw the movie. (5/15/2003) |
| "Amazing fight scenes; at least 30 minutes that takes the original movie to the next level of excellence in CGI. Car chases that make the Blues Brothers look like an exercise in restraint. On the other hand... 20 minutes of what looked like a rap video... dialogue from a Star Trek Movie... I expected to see Leonard Nimoy appear at any minute. TERRIBLE editing, particularly in the last half hour. The soundtrack was ghastly... completely missing the techno drive of the original. It sounded like the theme music from Mission Impossible. The cyberpunk feel of the original is completely replaced by a bland formulaic plot. Morpheus appears to gain at least 30 lbs during the mid part of the movie." |

| "remember the part where we find out that the real world is actually a matrix, inside of a matrix, inside of more matrices, inside of a marble, being thrown by a big ass alien. that part sucked. but at least i masturbated in my popcorn, and made steve eat it. did anyone else notice how agent smith 2 - 804 looked like he belonged in shrek with that ****ing donkey and john lithgow? or the part where that thing stomped the car. what the hell was that? how bout those pale ass bitches? i hate this ****ing movie. how about this bitch on maury povich who slept with like eighteen guys in two days. spoon spoon spoon." |

| "i went to the midnight showing, and i hate to say it, but it was dissapointing. the smith duplicate fight was really interesting in the beginning, but just got rediculous and started looking more like and old fashioned tap dance routine than a matrix fight. the freeway scene, same thing, really good but too long. and what was the point of the sex scene and the dance in Zion? it seemed like they were only there to appeal to the pervs who think a rated R movie needs sex. however, the plot was interesting and the graphics were good... i have a lot of respect for the difficulty and the effort put in, and hey, it's the matrix, so it's still good. the first one was better though" |

pretty much, if u loved the first one, u wont be disappointed. if u hated the first one, then nothing new here except some brilliant action scenes" |

| "Great movie!!! Comments: Zion has been destroyed 6 other times which makes Neo the 7th (7 = Gods perfect number)
The movie ended with Neo being close to death...in the first Matrix he died and came back which made it his 2nd life...now he is going to come back again which will make his 3rd life
(3 = Gods number of completion).
Questions: Why can Neo use his powers in the real world now? I'm confused but I like a movie that makes me think.
Got to see it again !!!!!" |

What really kept me thinking was how Neo was able to stop machines outside of the matrix. Is he still inside? This is just one of 100 different questions that the movie left me with. All of which are not answered in the movie. So what was the point of this flick? To get us warmed up for Revolutions? I don't know about you guys, but when I see a movie, I want to be satisfied in some ways. Action and special effects were awesome, but story-wise it left me unsatisfied. The W brothers should've at least wrapped some story-lines up, imho. Now I just don't know what to think of this movie.
Well, I guess it's on to Revolutions.
It;s the question that drives us..." |

| "I want to offer a theory, concerning possibly the direction the next film will take. The sequence at the end, where the camera pans off neo on the bed to the Agent-smith mole, suggests to me the following. Suppose, early on in the movie, when Agent Smith jabs his hand into Neo's chest, and begins converting him, that this process actually succeeded. However, in order to control him, his conscious mind must be kept asleep. Therefore he was made to believe that he fought off the procedure, and remained whole. The fighting after that was merely a distraction; in the "real world", Neo is the mole without knowing it, and the ending of the movie (the whole matrix within the matrix idea) is neo beginning to realize this, which results in a coma for both personalities, as they come into conflict. As far as whether or not their is a real Zion, and if it was really destroyed 6 times or so (I would assume so since I got the impression that the sentinels knew exactly where to go/what to do). There is of course, that accepted reality that the architect talks about, where they suppress the anomaly by convincing him that he saves the world and trap him into believing that he's escaped when he hasn't. Perhaps it will be Agent Smith's ability to influence the real world from within the matrix that may result in the destruction of the machines. I wonder what the "real world" will be like." |

I can't help it if some people are too stupid to see that all that "mindless jibber-jabber" might actually mean something. The Matrix films are masters at being simultaneously braindead action kung-pow and psycholgical, Biblical epics of universal proportions. It may not make much sense to those who haven't done their research of Matrix history (Where the robots come from, why they want us, etc.) But for those who bothered to put in the effort, the intricately woven storytelling and awesomely sudden ending makes this THE movie to see, NOW." |

| "Before i saw the movie i read a few reviews. I must say, with all the mixed reviews i was fearful that my expectations were not going to be met. I am glad to say that this movie was no let down. For all the fans that loved the first one, there is no doubt that you're going to love this one as well. For the people who did not think the first was one of the best stories ever created, and just a average action movie, I'm sure that they will be disapointed. This movie was awesome, but not as good as the first. Even if the W. brothers wanted this movie to top the first, there is no way that they could have succeeded. I don't believe that topping the first was their goal, but only to continue the epic. The action sequences are excellent, the story kept me interested, and my hunger for more matrix has grown. One suggestion for the people wholoved the first, but have not seen reloaded, don't go with anyone that has not seen the first yet. They will just be confused. Try to see it with someone that loved the first just as much as you did. " |

It wasnt like the original where Neo learns from each fight. The plot was alot of New Age crap. I dont care anymore how the series ends. None of the songs on the album are in the movie. The new characters are all the same. By the end I was almost hoping they would get Neo and put us out of our misery." |

| "i liked the movie but im left with to many questions than answers. if there is truly a matrix within the matrix than why did neo go into a coma when he stopped the sentienls. maybe the prophecy did come true, maybe neo now has the power to stop machines in the real world, maybe by making the choice he did he recieved the ablity to control machines. neo is a flaw in the matrix, a flaw in a perfect program is contradictory, so is it so hard to believe that he might have gained something special when he went through the door. he was able to fly alot faster, and save trinity by sticking his hand through her skin to pump her heart." |

| "This was horrible. The only reason I'm giving it two stars is cause all the Smiths. Not the fight. He's an awesome character. But speaking of the fight scenes, they all sucked. They were almost all computer effects. Nothing like the choreographed scenes from the first one. Also that dumb dancing scene wasted so much time. There was just too much stuff that was so unrealistic even for the Matrix. The first movie explained everything so much better. This one sucked. And you should all go watch the movie before you rate it." |

| "For those poor saps who claim that people giving this movie 5 stars never went to see it...shut up. I saw it last night...and it far exceeded my expectations. I'm not some sci-fi trekkie who's out to make everyone worship the Matrix for its use of special effects and oh-so-nifty fight sequences. Nor am I some crazed Keanu fan who would give every one of his movies a high rating. I'm just tellin ya that it was worth every penny of its ticket price and every second of my precious time. For those of you who would disagree...it comes as no surprise to me...because the majority of the people who gave this movie a 1 star rating were asleep through it. I suggest a good-night's sleep for all of you...I'm sure u'd have a different opinion of the movie when u actually see it. Aight...so now why do I even bother to give it such a high rating? It still makes you think...just as the first one did. Besides its kick-ass sequences, it uses ancient chinese philosophies as the backdrop (uneducated in that? go look it up...u might appreciate the film more). so anyway...point? go see it...better than sitting around listening to people say how good it was..." |
 |
Mike G. (5/15/2003) |
| "The only reason I gave this four stars is because I'm going to have to see it three or four more times to capture clues as to what's ultimately going on (otherwise it would be 5 stars). Pay no attention to the 'one star' morons who are obviously trying to undermine a masterpiece. However, you do have to see this in light of being half a movie. I can't wait 'til everyone sees this thing if for nothing else but to talk about the 'possibilities' it opens itself up to. You'll see this the first time for the 'special effects' and won't be disappointed. But this will probably be the the best selling DVD of all time as this movie screams for disection into its intricate dialog. There's a point towards the end where the flash forwards, Neo's conversation with the architect of the Matrix, and the 'choice' that Neo must make, all of which remain unanswered. Keep in mind this is a war between humans and the Artificial Intelligence they created, an intelligence that ultimately became self-aware and, without emotion, simply wanted to survive at any cost, including the lives of the humans that created it. Reloaded drops you into the middle of a 'mystery' where you begin to doubt who's good, who's evil, and who is really the 'hero'. You'll find out the Matrix 'evil' is much more complex than simple man vs. machine. You'll be reminded that Neo truly _is_ 'only human' and it seems at what is the pivotal point of this movie that he actually betrays all mankind for his love of a woman. (I may be wrong on that point because the events that transpire are foggy, to say the least) This is a _thinking_ movie that happens to have the greatest special effects of all time. The only 'annoying' part was this kid at the beginning that idolized Neo and for two minutes reminded you of Jar Jar Binks. I almost wonder if the Wachowskis did that on purpose to remind people of Star Wars I and IIs failure to truly capture our imagination. Some will find the 'dance' scene in Zion after Morpheus' speech a little weird, but I believe it is reminding us of the importance of our humanity, our emotional core, our freedom of choice (a central concept of the whole series). There are some intended laughs with perfect timing in the Matrix style of humor and the fight scenes are perfectly distributed throughout the movie, each one with its own style. This movie will grow on you, much more so than the first. Stick around after the credits for a brief but completely unrevealing teaser for Revolutions. Just remember folks, it's the story that drives the movie, and this story will confuse everyone precisely because it is meant to. You will leave more than just 'satisfied', you will leave with questions, a bunch of them. But the confusion is fun, not annoying. Again, this is only the first half of ONE movie. See it in that light and you will have an eye opening ride." |

| "I went to see this thinking it would be great. After over two hours of watching never ending scenes, it came time for a "to be continued" message on the theatre screen. I expect this on television but not at the movies. After 2+ hours of watching these scenes drag out forever, it became obvious that the producers had enough material for only one movie. I gave it one star because there isn't a no star rating." |

| "Some of the reviews/insights are right on, but some are furthest from the storyline.
**Merovingian - old Neo that did not fully implement objective in beta 5.0
Wrong!! As stated in the movie, he is one of those programs (like the Oracle) "floating around" after the matrix upgraded itself.
**Persephone - old trinity code…
Wrong again!! She was the discarded part of the matrix that tried to implement human emotion (i.e. Love, hence trying to kiss Neo).
Twins, and Merovingian's Guards - more like part of the same program as Merovingian.
**Counselor in Zion - Advisor for Mainframe that advises Neo along with his upgrade to not touch the main bios (engineering) systems
**How can this be when his scenes are in the physical world??
Smith - self-replicating virus - now capable of moving to either system – infused with anomaly code from Neo…
**If Smith is a self-replicating virus he would have done it in the 1st film.
Of course, all of the characters, whether in the real world or the matrix, are open to interpretation still. I think any final say in where the whole story is going will be answered in Nov. In the meantime, go see this again this summer. I mean, it's your own choice, right??" |

Siskel's Ghost (5/19/2003) |
| "I LOVED the first movie, and really wanted to love this sequel, but couldn't help feeling a bit let down- there was a LOT of ultra-cheesy dialogue & contrived sex/glamour. The whole Zion part of the film was pretty excruciating, feeling like a cross between MTV and Star Trek Voyager. The "French guy" episode was really embarassing as well, what with ultra-abstract philosophizing about "cause and effect," and the blonde woman's clit lighting up in Matrix code- COME ON, WACHOWSKIS!!!! That's middle-school boys locker-room humor! No disrespect, but have you guys gotten laid recently? The FX were definitely ground-breaking, although I feel like they lacked the rawness & intensity of the action sequences in the first... What's up with the evil twins turning into fanged ghosts? I almost laughed out loud... I DID like the twist that the Oracle appears to be serving the system, as well as the idea that old/obsolete programs can become rogue elements within the Matrix. The main thing that lacked in this film was one of the staples of the first: a sense of perspective from a normal Matrix dweller, perhaps a scene where Neo frees the mind of someone. One thing that was so appealing about the first film was the idea that the everyday world around us was an illusion, and that the routine of our day-to-day lives was all a fabrication made to keep us pacified. The juxtaposition of this everyday world and the wild exploits of those breaking its physical laws made for a really appealing ride. I felt like in this one they completely shucked the perspective of a "normal" person in favor of surreal CGI mayhem- which in small doses is great, but I think too much of it can dilute the emotional weight/excitement of the plot. Anyway, I thought the movie was OK, but not anywhere near the calibre of the original... " |

Cy the Cyborg (5/19/2003) |
| "After reading all of the reviews here I've noticed something. That everyone who claimed to hate the movie, and only gave it a single star have something in common. Most of these single star administering reviewers who hated the plot and claimed that it 'sucked' didn't seem to even understand the plot. They didn't even seem to understand what the movie makers were even trying to convey in the story. I appears to me that they go lost in during the movie, never caught back up when the cliffhanger dropped, and the first thing that came to their mind was..., 'sucked!' Now I agree that the infusement of so much 'techno-babble' and 'riddle speak' could have made the movie's plot a little harder to follow. Perhaps it could have been dumbed down a shade to assist those who went to the theater merely to be entertained after a long hard day without having to put to much thought in to the experience. I think it annoyed some people that they hadn't quite figured it out by the end, and they really didn't want to put any post-thought into it. I thinkg people will be a little more forgiving when the third one comes out and the intricacies of the story come together as a whole. If you liked the first matrix and if you keep an open mind and pay attention, and accept the fact that this is the first half to a complete story you will like this movie. Why do you think that they put the realease dates to these two films so close to eaach other? Now for the negative things that some people have griped about. Yeah, I think the Zion party thing was to long and drawn out, it made me think 'get on with it!', and I could have also done without the Neo-Trinity sex scene. I understand where they are trying to take the story, but I think they could have been a little more straight forward with the dialouge. Because like I said before, a lot of the cryptic-talk could easily loose todays viewing audience. Especially with the short attention span and the jaded nature of the movie going public these days. I mean come on! Ten years ago people would have cut off their left leg to see movies of this caliber! And now people have this 'ho-hum could have made something better myself' attitude. People! Get over your judgemetal attitudes and start enjoying creative works for what they are! I could see if it was something that was hastily put together without a thought or care in the world to make a quick buck. But this is obviously not the case, this movie rocked! Don't make me have to e-mail all you haters copies of my best backhand slap. And if I see anybody else salivating in print over trinity you'll recieve two of the afforementioned backhand slaps. She is not fine, she is busted. Good thing the choreography makes her look good in her fights. Maybe that's why I could have done without the sex scene between her and Neo, it looked like two dudes. Uuugggghh....(shaking). Must think about something else. I'm out. Peace!

| "Just got back from viewing Reloaded for the second time. I thought maybe since I was tired the first time through that perhaps I just hated it because of that or because of the fact that there was a good degree of confusion planted by the creators of the movie to spur interest for whats really going on.
I found out that this movie does not deserve the benefit of the doubt. Not at all.
The movie sucked. Period. Total Homosexuality, complete and utter gayness.
I cannot believe that they took something soooooo good with the first movie and trashed it. Very troubling, but oh well.
Here is what sucked and why. Every single new character with the exception of the French dude and of course the Italian Hottie Monica Bellucci... every other character sucked. Totally sucked. The script was nearly as bad as Episode II, the story went absolutely nowhere. And to these people that say you need a high IQ to understand whats going on or whatever, I say GET F-KED. You need a high IQ, why so you can handle being handled even more bullshit than this movie handed out.
No character development. All new characters were terrible and inconsequential for the most part. The story took a complete nose dive and to top it all off Trinity isn't dead (not that I wanted to see her die, but she should not have been able to come back. That is total homo and something that never would have happened within the thinking of the first film.) But since the Watch. Bros decided to **** this thing up royaly I guess it works out.
Bottom line is the story was boring and nothing really happened or was answered. You saw some new places and met some new people, but you are no further along that you were when Neo was first taken out of the Matrix.
Also, though I have not read any of the official sites and I do not know if for certain it is a Matrix within a Matrix, I do not subscribe to that theory.
Neo taking out those squids at the end, I WOULD LIKE TO THINK, was becuase of the fact that he is the One and being the One does extend outside of the programming of the Matrix. If he is truly a Messiah then he has just touched another of his "divine" abilities. This would make some sense in that he had a similar experiece that transcended his character at the end of the first movie.

| "See my other review for the reason I gave it four stars. This isn't so much a review as it is an attempt to get some input from others that have seen it. I'm asking some questions that will reveal major plot lines and putting in some comments about certain scenes. Do yourself a favor and don't read the rest of this if you want to see it from a fresh perspective. The trailers for this movie were careful not to give away plot points, so I am trying to do the same: Here we go, MAJOR SPOILERS from here on out...
OK Matrix boys and girls, hopefully some of you have a few answers. First.. is the Oracle 'good' or 'evil'? She apparently mislead Neo. The most disturbing line to me was the (fact?) that Zion had already been destroyed 6 times and that the machines had learned how to do it efficiently. That whole scene with the architect of the Matrix opened up a HUGE can of worms about the entire saga. Tell me if I'm wrong, but isn't Neo now 'hiding' the fact that he could have sacraficed Trinity and ended this whole thing by walking through the other door? I.E., he betrayed mankind to almost certain death for his love of a woman. Did he know something we don't know, was he gambling that the architect was wrong, or did he simply make a choice? When he tells Morpheus that mankind is going to wiped out in 24 hours, Morpheus asked "who told you?" and Neo said "It's not important?" WTF?? And, after the Nebachedezzar (excuse spelling) blew up, his destroying those sentinals suggests that they were _INSIDE_ the Matrix, or some alternate Matrix. In the real world, Neo and everyone else is just human, right? Agent Smith seems like he is now the most powerful of the programs, especially since he apparently has found a way to transfer his 'being' into a real human's mind. (The guy at the end laying on the table opposite of Neo) ARRRGH!! And some special effects gripes.. Why did they "slow-mo" the agent jumping onto the hood of the car? It just made it look a little fake. The chase scene was brilliant except for that. (Though the in-car fighting between one of the 'ghosts' and Morpheus/Trinity was a little annoying due to the fact the ghost seemed like he could have caused a lot more damage than he did) The two trucks colliding and the resulting rescue was incredible. My fav fight scene (besides the 100 Smiths) was the dual staircase scene with all the different weapons. We take the action for granted in this thing, but the intricacies are amazing. Except for a few brief moments in the Neo/Agent Smiths fight, there was no hint of CGI characters. And what's with that OBVIOUSLY horrible transformation of the truck driver into the agent where his head pops out like two feet? Probably the Wachowskis having a little fun with the 'cult' fans, but sheeze.. Back to the plot.. Do you see how the hell they're going to win this thing? What the hell is there left to do in the Matrix that Neo can do? If you saw the Revolutions teaser, he apparently will be going more rounds with Agent Smith and says "This all ends tonight", but that would make Smith pivotal to the outcome. Smith apparently has the means to indirectly make physical contact with the 'real world' through the planting of his 'psych' into that guy that almost sucker rushes Neo with his knife. Shit.. the questions go on and on. When's this damn thing going to be out on DVD????" |

With that said I had to watch Reloaded as its own movie.
I admit I had to see it twice. The first time I thought it was boring except the action sequences, and the story made no sense. But this is exactly how I felt about the first movie. I had to see the first one twice and ended up loving it. I've seen reloaded twice and now I love it. See it the first time for the action see it a second time for the story." |

appreciate time and money put in..and maybe effort..but it does not live up to the first.
special effects good, but had flaws..in terms of its actual use...or its actual appearance...
character development weak...
irrelevant,cheesy and corney scenes...
dialogue that was too up there...trying to be over mysterious...does not work...
intersting story line to some degree..could b betta conveyed..
ppl in da cinema were laughing at the movie...and shouting "WAT?" in frustration.
the list goes on...
i work at the cinema..alot of disappointed patrons...

| "Anyone who says that this movie sucks.. must have never graduated from any reputable school and has been completly sucked into a world of nothing but action, sex & violence. I for one, applaud this movie for making the viewers think. There just aren't enough of us left in this world that can think and even fewer movies to watch. I don't need to see an 1 hour and 45 minutes of slow moving bullets and kung-fu scenes to enjoy a movie.
Granted , the rave sex scene was overdone but I think it was shown as sort of a "let's party -because We'll probably be dead tomorrow" scenario.
I don't think that the sex party was a normal every day routine.
Although for this first half installment, I should only give it 4 stars .. I'm going to give it 5 because I'm grading both Matrix 2 & 3 together as a whole even though the 3rd one isn't out yet. Matrix 3 will undoubtedly be even better than 2. " |

This kind of action was produced to cater to matrix fans and for 1st timers as well. As far as the incomplete plot, you will have to wait until matrix revolutions which will conclude matrix reloaded. | " Man I can't wait to see Revolutions. There are so many different ways Reloaded could go. Heck, ff the brothers that wrote this movied wanted to, they could come up with several other movies to branch off from the first two Matrix movies. Like an entire Matrix Revolutions alternated ending. I would go see them all. It is all so confusing, and sends my brain into overdrive trying to figure out how all of this ties together. At the same time it is most gratifying. I went to movie thinking there was going to be fighting inside and outside the matrix, but left it doumfounded and amazed. I can understand why so many people disliked it because of the way it left you guessing. But I like them sort of movies. Some of the questions I have running through my mind, is" is zion a part of the matrix, or is Neo some kind of true "the one" that can do stuff inside and outside of the matrix, is it true that he is in a loop or just a trick by the machines, possibly even tricked to go through a wrong door because they new what he was going to choose, etc... I know the last one will explain it all and damn I can't wait. I will probably go see this movies several more times just to learn it inside out so I can have a better understaning in the finale. It was also somewhat comical. I loved it when Neo had enough of fighting all of the agents smiths and just took off. Their expressions got me to laughing. They were all just looking around looking as if they just couldn't understand it and didn't know what to do next. I do agree with all of the others about the sex scene and the rave party. I guess it was either stuck there to show the compasion between Neo and Trinity, and also to show that Zion is some sort of erotic atmosphere or they were trying to please the pervs as well. LOL I myself am a perv, but I could have done without it in a movie such as Matrix. If that one part was left out I would have given it 6 stars. Anyways, just my two cents worth." |

| "I just love this movie. Of course, the first one will be the better of the two because the audience had never seen special effects like that before. But, I also very much enjoyed "Reloaded," the action scenes were way more intense than the first one, and I very much liked the love scene between Neo and Trinity, it showed the movie as not just a hard-core action flick, but it also had a plot, it was also a love story. It had something to build on. The only draw-back was the philosophical drama near the end of the movie by this weird white-haired fellow, who just totally made the plot confusing. However, it was near the end, so fans should not be disappointed, it didn't cloud any of the real important part of the movie. If you are a true Matrix fan like myself, you cannot give "Reloaded" less than four stars, it was great. Can't wait to see the finale. By the way, the ending was brilliant. Now, tell me, who wouldn't want to see the finale after this?" |

| "The best part of this movie was seeing the previews for T3. The plot behind the movie really was pretty ok, but the movie itself was worthless. It focused on all the wrong things trying to appeal to the masses. That scene with Zion partying was 3 minutes of watching Woodstock. Everyone there was goodlooking, young, and just about naked. I'm all for that if I'm watching a bad movie looking for a redeaming quality, but not for watching a movie that is supposed to follow in the footsteps of the first Matrix. On top of that I was just hoping that those 100 Mr. Smiths would have just killed him because that scene was just aweful. Lastly, there were so many holes in the story line where things could have been done on both the machines side and the human side to have ended the war a lot easier. For example, why not have the matrix set up so people think they are living back in midevil times? That way they don't know computers, they don't know programming, they can't fight the machines, there is no anomoly. Moral of my ranting is that this movie was an insult to Matrix fans and to be continued endings only work for movies that make you want to see what happens next (LOTR and Star Wars). THis movie sucked

| "what the heell was that. I've got to admit it had pretty cool scenes, well some of them. The Smith fight seemed ok when Neo was just fighting like 10-20 Smiths, but after that when the bloody 101 dalmation Smiths came out, it just got outright ridiculous. The highway scence was good but it just seemed like one big advertisment sometimes. The fights in this movie are good, but a bit dragged on. They fight just for fighting sake. When Neo was fighting those French henchmen with weapons he dragged on that fight, Neo could of killed anyone of them so quickly with th weapons he had, instead he dragged on the fight. He could of stabbed but instead he punched, you watch that fight scence again and count how many time Neo could of stabbed his enemies, but instead he blew the kisses. His prancing around while his friends are getting whooped by the competition. As for the dialouge I hint a little of Dragonball Z bullshit talking. I mean come on. It took that guy at the end of the movie bloody 20 minutes to say your in a loop. The talking just dragged on, and the talking wasn't relevent, they should just rename this movie the Metaphor. As for Morpheus'speech at the beginning of the movie, it wasn't so inspiring. Where's William Wallace when you need him. This movies is made for teenagers and not for mature moviegowers. | "Let me explain the movie to those of you who are obviously not too quick on the uptake and were too dimwitted to follow the "esoteric" explanations. God is in the details. The spoon was the first clue to tell you that Zion was not real. The analogy of the water-treatment plant to Neo was the first clue that Neo is just a program; a machine. The "esoteric", "psuedo-philosophical" conversations merely re-iterated and confirmed what you should have already suspected. If you missed this, then you missed the point of the movie. It wasn't the artful eyecandy; excellent action, fair cgi, and other visual stimulations. That was merely the art of storytelling. Colorful elaborations intended to keep your attention. Obviously eyecandy can be a bit distracting for the more feebleminded. Unlike the first movie, this movie is not a total package. Merely the second installment of a three-part series." |

This was a Matrix film?! (5/18/2003) |
| "Ladies and gentlemen, this movie does not have the impact of the first film...AT ALL! This movie is filled with excessive dialogue that is unintelligable. We are hit over the head repeatedly with stupid philosophical ideas: Everything is predecided, you have to understand reasons and purposes, etc. The entire first 20-30 minutes holds the film back except for the part with Agent Smith. Zion is a boring city we spent way to much time in. Without a doubt, the worst part is the Zion rave/ Trinity and Neo shagging. This scene went too long in itself. On a side note, I don't find Carrie Ann Moss attractive at all. She has an ugly face and a flat chest. Anyway, back to the movie. Not everything about this movie was bad. The action is where this movie really shines. A lot of people feel that the action scenes went way to long. I personally couldn't get enough of them. Although the scenes are littered with so much CGI, you'll forget there are actual humans in the movie. I think the best part of the movie was the chase scene where Trinity and Morpheus are pursued by police, agents, and the twins. The twins make for interesting villains with their ability to pass through solid matter, but why do they look like ghosts when they use this ability? And then we come to the architect. This man uses such complicated dialogue that it's difficult to understand what the Hell he's talking about. So is the Zion world just another layer of the Matrix in the Matrix? A lot of people think so. I don't think so. I think Neo was able to control the sentinels because the sentinels are a part of the Matrix and Neo, as we all know, has an intimate connection to the Matrix. I wish Trinity would have died because then i might have felt some emotion during this movie. I hope the next movie is better. " |

| "Not as capitvating as the first...but hey, it could never be. we've already seen what the Matrix is, Neo has become the One, etc...nothing was as exciting as his transformation and that is the reason people bash it. They, the small-minded moviegoer's, wanted to be as thrilled with the one-sided plot and goal of the first movie. Confusion followed by thought is the path of this movie. The relationship between Zion and the machines is ingenous and obvious. This movie was a great transition to a more complex, thought-provoking plot that actually requires thought. If you didn't understand it, you A-weren't watching close enough, B-were still bitching about the rave-sequence in Zion, C-are stupid, D-don't have the imagination for sci-fi. This movie had many amazingly-creative plot twists and action that adds to the wonder and grandness of the Matrix. The third should be an amazing conclusion. " |

The plot was eratic and loose with long unecessary scenes, aweful new characters, and long and cheesy dialog... I really hate to say this, but M2 is not in the same league as the first. | "I saw the matrix last night, me and couple of my friends got together drank a little at went at seen it at midnight. I couldnt even sleep the night before im such a matrix fan. But almost the only part that reminded me of the first ingenious matrix film was the notorious Warner Brothers sign in green numbers, after that there was precious little resemblance. I dont know whats up with the people with five stars. I see that almost half of the five stars were people who havnt seen it yet and have only seen the tailer. Well same here I would put a 6 star the night before watching the trailer. I dont know what happened. The dialoge was drawn out, the fight scenes were not even close to the original, it didnt make Neo look even close to as bad ass as he was in the first one. Well Fu** it the brothers sold out after their first movie made it big in the box office. Now the only thing left to do is to wait around for november to come and see just how low they can go. Or just seen X-men 2 a couple more times hehe." |

| "I saw it today. I understand why some people might be dissapointed. I think the massive hype has raised expectations to a level no movie could hope to satisfy. But I think it's a mistake to focus on the flaws. This is a good and worthy installment. Most movies are so simplistic there isn't a single surprise for the viewer. Not so with this movie. People are going to be debating the key revelations for some time, and they'll be speculating about how it's all going to end in the last movie. Most people walk out of a movie and never give it another thought. That won't happen with the Matrix Reloaded. I only gave it 4 stars because of the pointless, way-too-long dance scene. I'm getting irritated just thinking about it. " |
 |
JHo (5/16/2003) |
| "Its seems to me that you either love the movie or you hate it. On the one hand you have the people who watch it for the action scenes and special effects and who are easily satisfied and on the other hand you have people who listen to the script and actually try to understand what is going on and leave the movie feeling bewildered. I suspect that those who gave it a 1 star rating went into the matrix with far too high expectations. When going to a sequal of an awesome movie expect the worst! The first movie had the element of surprise when the "matrix" was explained... but this one relied heavily on special effects to make up for a lack of a coherent story line which seemed to dart about randomly. I didn't like the matrixs literal interpretation of a "back door"... I don't like the way that the directors have sold-out by trying to appeal to everyone in the population e.g. the random sex scene of romance so that chicks could see how loving and tender Keanu is ! BS! And what was with the primal sweaty moshpit caveman style dance scene! Pointless... I don't understand why everyone had reverted to a caveman like existence when the level of technology was so high and there were things like mech warriors walking around and shit... I found the Neo parrallel to Jesus thing a bit cheesy.. all the people gathered around him with gifts dressed up like something out of a bible story and a woman comes up to Neo and asks him to "watch over her son". The architects speech was a bit wanky and not very sympathetic to the younger viewers or those viewers with a limited vocab. What is up with Neo having his own personal EMP shockwave when he comes out of the matrix... "somethings different, I can feel them now". What was up with the machines still digging once they slaughtered Zion?? Are they digging to the earths core where they can get a new energy source or are there more humans deeper down??? What is up with agent smith being able to "hack" into a human brain by coming through the phone line. The lines between human and computer are blurred in this movie with the absurd idea introduced that a computer programme can somehow infiltrate the mind and control the body. I found the whole "Neo pokes trinity's heart and brings her back to life" thing a bit cheesy! and she comes back to life with the cheesy "I guess that makes us even" GHEY! Hopefully all my questions will be awnswered in the next matrix which comes out in November... but until then I'll just have to be confused. I'm gonna give it 4 stars because they spent 300 million on it and cause the simple side of my brain enjoyed the fight scenes (I love the samurai sword, pistol combo by morpheus)... but the other side of my brain remains unsatisfied with the lack of closure provided by the movie." |

| "The movie sucked. No plot development, no character development, The first half an hour is boring. (I slept during the next half an hour so I don't know, maybe it was boring as well). Nothing really interresting if you're not a dance teacher interrested by the choreography of fights, which have been more than developed.
What is it with this rave party type of thing organised in Zion?
With this kind of sequel there is only one advice.
Here's the advice: See this one (better if you see it for free), see the third one (try to see it for free as well, you never know)." |

The people who say this movie sucks should have paid more attention to the intricacies of the plot and used their brains for more than ordering their greasy paws to shovel popcorn into their mouths." |

| "Neo didn't use a gun the whole movie and when he pulls the psi's off the wall, he fights with the blunt end?! He impales one rogue with a sword and smashes another in the head; that's the extent of his bad-assness in this whole movie. His fight with The Oracle's guard was more like a dance and fighting to a draw is the best he could do when he can stop a thousand bullets by holding up his hand?! Forget the inane plot, our boy, "The One", the badass that blasted pillars in M1, is nothing more impressive than a flying safety net in M2. I thought this movie was total trash. " |

One of the worse parts was Morpheus's "calm speaking" monotone voice trying too hard to be "kool" and failing. Too much talking and way too much of just about everything. The fights scenes were too long with no sense of urgency. Same can be said about the chase scene. And what's with the flying?? Are the producers trying to sell the upcoming Superman movie??" |

Call them the Lucas bros (5/17/2003) |
| ":huge heaving sigh:
The musical score was tinny and porno-sounding.
The philosophical quandries needed to be shortened by at least 5 mins. per conversation.
Important rule- Just because you have access to lots of CGI doesn't mean you should *use* it (case in point the original Lucas)
The original Matrix had an incredible punk/goth-B-Movie-thrust to it that sparked interest and wowed the senses.
This picture, uh, well, this picture cost a great deal of money and time to make.
A trilogy is like a bridge, it needs strong supports on each bank, but if that middle isn't strong also, the whole damn thing goes crashing into the sea.
It did raise some interesting questions at the end...one's left to wonder if it was worth sitting through the movie for them though.
I won't lie, I'm going to see the third one, just like I'm going to see the third installment of Star Wars...the only thing I have left is hope.
Hope that the three Lucas brothers will redeem themselves with what could easily be the last influential movies of their careers." |

Choker (5/16/2003) |
| "A complete choke. Not only was action pure video game, but the music was like ET recycled through a playstation with stock beats. The series of scenes taped together might be labeled a movie, but I think you'd get better dialogue and depth from a similarly edited teletubbies intersperced with Mountain Dew commercials." |
 |
Unloaded (5/16/2003) |
| "The Matrix Reloaded does what WB hoped it would and what Neo-files hoped it wouldn't: It sells out--I mean both in the box office and also in its values. One might forgive the product placement (America's favorite gas-guzzler) as the movie attempts to gratify those of us who not only enjoyed, but believed in, the first film by offering truly mesmerizing action sequences which surely go beyond anyone's expectations. But the script was nevertheless weak, also beyond anyone's expectations. You will scratch your head in bewilderment during long stretches of sophomoric bedroom dialogue which neither support the film nor provide any interesting excursive value. A second failure of the dialogue is its gratuitous attempts to supply seemingly endless facts which could only serve to sell the public on the companion video game. In fact, while the movie is rather wordy, almost none of the dialogue is worthy of attention. One notable exception is Neo's first fight scene, when he cocks his head and makes an unforgettable passive comment, perfectly delivered by Reeves. Even the action scenes often seem more in keeping with Mission Impossible than with the first Matrix--at the end of which one could have ignored Neo's "Superman thing," whereas in Reloaded it becomes routine--as the directors have chosen now to copycat contemporary Hollywood's penchant for making action scenes so implausible as to exceed the bounds of human imagination. We still want to believe in Newton; we like to see his rules bent, perhaps broken, but certainly not discarded. My only real praise for this film goes to Carrie-Anne Moss, whose portrayal of Trinity is superb. She deserves an Oscar nomination for this film. She delivers every line with the kind of conviction lacking elsewhere. It is as if she still believes in the Matrix, and after watching the sequel, I hope that I still can too." |

Dissapointed Fan (5/16/2003) |
| "After seeing the movie last night I was dissapointed...... A lot of Pseudo-phylosophical babble..... it was like seeing a drunken idiot speaking phylosophy and explaining it to you. It lacked the subtle numerological/ religious/theological implications yet UNDERSTANDABLE to the common audience. Here you received babble over and over again, PLUS the unnecessary orgy/make out scene that stretched FOREVER! 45 mins into the movie and nothing had happened! Poor editing job, nice fight sequences (Neo/chinese guy-Neo French bad guys-Freeway chase-Neo-Ag. Smith nice but no purpose just FX showing off.
Bad script, cheesy dialogue, unnecesary characters (whats the deal with the jealous commander? for Morpheous to have made the speech to the crowd he should have been the defense commander not a mere captain (speech was cool though) but way too much talk not enough action, there is no equivalent to the helicopter scene in Matrix 1.... so sorry but dissapointed..... will see it again to confirm if I can sift thru the mumbo jumbo to try and make some sense of the whole thing....... unlikely but will try for respect for the first movie..... See ya." |

Matrix Reshitted (5/16/2003) |
| "I'll explain the movie very simply. You are introduced to some city called zion which is primitive for some reason. You meet loads of characters unrelevant to the plot. Neo meets more character - "programs" that are also pretty unrelevant. Neo and Morpheus fight twins (which is cool), but only to save the lame keymaster (which sux). Neo finally discovers the interesting plot at the end which was seriously needed at the beginning. Then Neo does something to totally offbalance everything the story stands for and the movie ends with cheesy suspence." |

| "The only reason I'm giving this movie one star is because of the best chase scene ever captured on film. A couple of years ago, I decided not to watch any preview to movies I really wanted to enjoy so that everything would be a surprise. Well, the jokes on me because everything that was good about this movie was in the previews! Why was the orgie/dance/love scene so long? I'm sure the bros. W. wanted to show the contrast of living, organic, primal essence of humanity in contrast to the cold logical programming of the machines, but did it have to go on for so long in the movie? Didn't we already learn from the first one that Trinity and Neo love each other? Did we really have to see sitcom-esque scenes like the elevator makeout? A LOT of excess meaningless scenes that should have been on the cutting room floor. I mean, you literally could have arrived an hour late to the theater and NOT MISSED ANYTHING IMPORTANT! This movie should have been about an hour long at most. Whoever edited this movie should get fired. Oh, and by the way, I'm 31 and this movie screamed of 15-24-year-old male-demographics! If you fall into this category and absolutely loved this film, don't apologize or feel threatened by someone older trying to tell you to "grow up". This movie was made for YOU not US." |

Don (5/16/2003) |
| "This film was very disappointing to say the least. Yes, it did take CGI to a new level, yet it was at the expense of the plot. The first part of the trilogy was great and I was looking forward to something much better. Unlike the first, the excessive use of wires became exceedingly obvious, and the fight scenes were tiresome and didn't have the flair of the first's gun battles. Also, the much hyped highway scene was a shameless General Motors promo. Dialogue was never the Matrix's strength, but it became downright laughable in this sequel. It was funny yet it couldn't be taken seriously. It tried to be twisted but did so without flair. It tried to be deep, but the circular dialogue only showed that the writers had nothing to say. Weak. This film was so bad, I was tempted to protest it afterwards to spare others the pain of watching it. I know everyone's going to see it because they're curious, but if you're unsure, don't bother. gnarly potato (5/16/2003) |
| "(SPOILERS)
The Matrix Reloaded had a lot to live up to with all of the hype OVER this last year. Unfortunately, the Wachowskis tried to out do themselves, and in trying to do so, bogged the movie down with too many aimless action scenes and left too much unexplained. The only reason for this that I can think of is that this is really the first half of one movie, the second half of which will be released in six months. As a result, you don't really get the feeling that this IS a movie. Typically, a movie has a beginning where the set up for the story takes place. The middle is the meat of the story where the conflict is established. The end provides some kind of resolution, even if it is to tell you that the story isn't over yet. This movie really didn't offer any meat to the over all story. When it ends, you end up caring even less about what happens to the characters. Sure, you learn that the squidies are digging for Zion, but you only really see one short scene where you see it happening. You learn that there have been battles that have been lost to the squidies, but you don't see them. The phylosophy of the movie is quite good I think, but it could have been done more directly, saving time for more substance and less "ooo aaaa look how cool I can make the movie look with my computer." I hope that The Matrix Revolutions redeems this one, or else my star rating for this movie is going to have to come down." |

The dialog sounded like that took a few hundred fortune cookies and made a script! I did not care what the hell was going on after thirty minutes and anxiously waited for the damn thing to end so I could go to sleep! Special effects alone does not a movie make!" |

| "I saw this movie last night, and I, as a Matrix fan (as well as most of the audience), felt a huge disappointment. A special-effects laden karate movie with a convoluted plot and bad dialogue. The movie throws in fungfu scenes for no reason just to break up the bad dialogue. And Keanu's true talentless acting comes out. Just like Sylvester Stallone, he should stick to action movies with few lines for his character. However, the movie did have great special effects and the fight scenes were impressive, so I didn't totaly waste $10 for the ticket." |

I am intrigued about the idea of a matrix within a matrix. I think it would have been a more enticing plot if the writers would have went into this in more detail. Also, is it possible that the Oracle that Neo spoke to in this movie was not the real Oracle? Perhaps a fake Oracle program was developed to shake Neo's faith. Anything is possible with this type of storyline. You have to agree that the sunglasses were way cool. " |

DisappointedBeyondBelief (5/16/2003) |
| "The good:
The twins - They were by far the greatest part of this movie. They looked cool and were a great addition to the film.
The freeway chase - An excellent chase/fight scene that reminded me of the first film's originality and excitement.
The bad:
The dialogue - I think this script was written so you would have no idea what they were talking about. At times everyone just seemed to be using huge words to sound important and asking questions that were supposed to be thought provoking but ended up just making wonder how stupid these characters were.
Neo and fight scenes - Neo is supposed to be "The One" correct? Then why does his fight scenes last so long? Why does he even have to try that hard? Why does it seem that Trinity and Morpheus and just as proficient at fighting an Agent as Neo? In the first movie Agent Smith destroyed Morpheus and now in this movie Morpheus can hold his own? Neo doesn't seem as powerful as he should be and the fight scenes are drawn out and unoriginal.
Zion rap video/rave scene - This was twenty minutes of film that could be cut completely. It did nothing to further the plot and was just put in to fit the action movie formula of movie = action + sex + action. I'm sure if I was about to be attacked I would want to forget my worries and dance like they do in all those rap videos too...utterly horrible part of the movie. This scene truly set the tone of the rest of the movie and it doesn't recover until the end of the movie. Plus Link's wife/girlfriend is one horrible actress and it made we want to rip my eyes out to watch her on screen.
This movie had potential to be a huge success. Instead it tries too hard to be philisophical, the action scenes are drawn out and shouldn't be if Neo is supposed to be all powerful, and the Zion scene is a complete waste of time. In the end, sleep through the first part and watch the twins and the end of the movie." |

you know...I almost want to believe that it never happned...that its still February......you cant even begin to imagine my dissapointment...
If you liked the first movie for its witty hi-chase bam wham action go see part 2 many many times and tell all of your imaginary friends how INSANE it is WOW!But only after you go on this web sit and place a 5 STAR RATING ON IT...YEA! Then go into your bathtub..swallow a few dozen red pills from your momys drawer closet...and shoot yourself in the head...!BAM!Dont worry...for you now have the amazing ability to dodge bullets......
For all you other "True" fans though, I...feel sorry for you all...because this is not what "The Matrix" was about...no....it was all about the feel..the darkness...the philosophy..the intensity......not this MacDonalds movie toy joke....
But as you can see...We.. are the minority here.......it seems the world "is" overun by sheep...

| "Mindless B.S. is the first thought that comes to my mind. When the entire first part of the movie is filled with crap dialogue like this "You must choose your choice. Though you can not choose what choice you will choose. So you must choose your purpose.", you can't help but look at your watch and count the minutes until you can go home and put on the original Matrix and see a good film. There are numerous aspects of this movie that are horrible but I will only touch on the main ones. First, Neo. He is supposed to be the almighty bad ass, but he has trouble dealing with agents in fights? He took out Smith with one arm and didn't even think about it in the first one. Now he's struggling through a 5 minute fight scene!? Please!!! Keep the movies consistent! Second, there are numerous people who are supposedly huge parts of the matrix but Morpheus and Trinity have never heard of them? Haven't they been free for some 20 years of the Matrix? Wouldn't they know a lot about it. Plus all these new characters have horrible dialogue and are so forgettable I can't even remember what the hell they were in the movie to begin with. On that note the only two people that were really cool were the twins and they were in the movie for only 15 minutes!!! Third and final, the Zion rave. What the hell!!! "We are being attacked!!! Let us dance and have sex to forget our troubles!!!!!!" Please! The only saving grace of this movie is the last 25 minutes which involve chases explosions and those sweet ass twins. If you want to relieve the experience and the excite meant of the first movie, sleep through the first hour and a half and watch the last half hour of it." |

Special effects were ok..they probably could have added more scenes if they didn't waste so much time with crap. The Smith fight was cool at the start..but then it just got boring..like some ballet. The french guy was humor they added to the movie i believe, cause it was rather funny. The Wachinski Twins rocked, Morpheus stopped them nicley, sword and gun at the gas :). Anyway the movie was enjoyable to watch, even though i think the first one was better. I will watch the new one when it comes out. " |

| "Difficult... very, very difficult to rate this pic. Mixed up with the excitement that "Yes! It's finally here!" is the cold realization in the pit of my stomach that searched for treasures are often less precious than those we find unexpectedly. The first Matrix movie was an unexpected treasure. Never before had I seen effects of that magnitude, or been taken on such a bizarre mental trip. But I didn't know before I saw it that I would like it so much or even that I'd want to like it so much. This second offering from the Wachowski brothers has found me paralyzed by "sequelitis," the unconcious desire to love a movie simply out of respect for the first one. But, do I truly love this new Matrix film?
Let's face it, the ending sucked. Cliffhangers went out of vogue back in the fifties with leather jackets and switchblades, daddy-o. I was gonna go see the third movie anyway, no matter what... there was absolutely no call to force me into it.
This cliffhanger, packed as it is with blazing quantities of eye-candy at the expense of more detailed plot, still moved me. And bringing Neo down from messiah status to the more lackluster "human glitch" was a bold stroke to otherwise handicapped story-telling. But it was a device the wachowski brothers were unable to sustain and before the end Neo once again displays a panchant for unparalleled techno-voodoo. However, unlike the first movie, we never get the chance to know why. It does titilate the mind to explore possibilities though. Is the world which contains the matrix itself contained within a matrix? Ah, those crafty machines. Or, could it be possible that our little Neo, through years of human "Duracell" cloning, has actually developed strange and freaky powers?
To summarize, yes this movie left me a little less in awe than the original, but to say it is not good because of that it to forget the point of movies in the first place; to entertain. And entertained I was. For less than ten dollars I was thoroughly entertained for two hours, and in the final analysis that is enough. I mean hey, i'ts not like I was looking for spiritual enlightenment or anything." |

| "I'd actually rank this lower (2 1/2 if it were allowed) simply given so much of a swerve away from the format of the original. The philosophical arguments were interesting. The premise leading up learning more about the Matrix also worked quite well. But the overfocus on martial arts (Neo's supposed to be able to restructure the Matrix right? Why the heck does is fight everyone hand-to-hand?), the extended rave, and the other aspects of sexuality are just overdone. Seems to slip from a technowonder into a low budget skinimax flick. On top of it, there were way too many slow motion aspects in the combat. It works if they're trying to show things that occur faster than the human eye can process (the ripples in the trucks when they crash, for example) but the over reliance when it wasn't needed was bloody boring. Mind you, if they edited out about 30 minutes, it would rank much higher" |

I bet noone was tuned in for that part to think hmm matrix in a matrix in a matrix, and choice, i mean wtf? The humour is pretty poor too, keunu reeves is the shittest actor. What the fk is that zion scene about? goes for like 30 mins of dancing and utter bullshit then they have sex what a load of crap. THis movie sux and is an insult to all people who enjoyed the first movie and its complexity. This one is even more loaded with biblical references but this time they are blatantly obvious and stupid crap, yea neo just resurrects trinity from the dead, shes so ugly, rather that persephony chick SHWING. The scene where neo fights those agents like 100 was so cheesy me and my friends were laughing our heads off, AT the movie not WITH it. I'm a better, more efficient man thanx to the Wakowski Bros! No movie will ever reach that standard of high impact entertainment anytime soon. Those who rated lowly, are either really THICK or REALLY OLD, and the annimation was too fast for their weary unexperienced eyes! Only critisism was that the dance scene could have been ommitted without harming anything! But it was great anyway! This is the dawning of a new era in action! grippin story to those that understand...ughhh...just F...ing superb! I love you all! My life is complete!" |

but for the missing piece of information in the story.
The movie makers have decided to make it in the video game, THE MATRIX.
So, you must play the video game version in order to really understand the complete story." |

| "Yes, I have seen the movie. Yes, I am a Matrix (I) fan. No, I did not participate in the hype of previews (do not own a TV and go to the movies seldom).
Read through most of the reviews. It looks like the more people are into football (and other worthless organized sports) and the more they are into beer-drinking, "hanging out" and playing stupid addictive stuff like playstations and such (instead of participating in the real world and, perhaps, sometimes even READING and/or THINKING on their own) -- the
more they tend to like this movie.
However, for the rest of us (the minority who do not like stupid shit poring onto our heads from the media for idiots) this film is a disappointment. I agree, there is very little of plot development, no drama whatsoever and very lengthy fight scenes that tend to put one to sleep. How much value IS there in fighting, anyway? -- Some, if it serves a purpose (as it did in the first movie, and brilliantly so).
Characters are underdeveloped, lots of redundant stuff. Gratuitous love scenes. Pretty corny, filled with early-teenage, MTV-style disco scene of Zion party. (By the way, why absolute majority of participants there are under age of 25 and non-whites? Are the whites considered to be "above" -- or "below" -- this sexual frenzy? And what happened to the large population of adults of Zion? Too tired to party, because they actually had to work to save their city, or because they would look too normally "human" in this make-belief crowd?)
Visual effects are great, but nobody argues that. However, visual effects alone do not make a great film.
The only hope for some redemption (for the final sequel) comes from Mama-Oracle/ Father-Architect statements... maybe...
I'd still go and see the conclusion when it comes out, hoping to be able to redeem this -- pretty "floppy" --attempt of greatness." |

| "If this page would let me give the movie 0 stars, I would give it just that. I can't believe that they ruined what could have been a great sequel. I also can't remember a sequel as bad as this one. Maybe they should work on a "Congo Reloaded." A SLOW, SLOW, SLOW movie that had me begging for a blanket and pillow. The Zion scene was just like a rap video (as one other reviewer so aptly said). The fight scenes were completely outrageous and overloaded with slow, plastic-like special effects.
Anyone who says this movie is the best they've ever seen, needs to work on cleaning up that acne, finish out 7th grade, and grow some hair before reviewing a movie. Terrible, terrible plot with many holes. I can't even say they stuffed it with a lot of great fight scenes because there weren't many, and when there were fights they were LAME. Neo looked just like a video game. The only redeeming thing about this movie were the twins (who only made it into about 15 minutes), and the ideas the Architect shared at the end. If you could buy a DVD, erase it and burn over it, I would do that immediately after it came out." |

| "Well, first one was amazing, this was ok but after the first one very disappointing. The music video kind of sequence in Zion was just ridiculous.. and the fight scene with tons of agent Smiths was just not done right; it looked like computer graphics, very unnatural. The story was quite weak, jumping from one illogical part to another all the time, yet advancing slowly (??). But hey.. it was not all that bad. But while the first one was totally cool, why did they have to introduce a clown this time (to get a few cheap laughs)? Also, a few times, the audience woudl laugh just because something that was supposed to be cool just didn't work and looked corny. I don't feel like I lost my money, it was a decent movie, but not even close to the first one." |

The special effects were good but they could have done better with makin the doubles look like the stars and some of the effects were overboard. Matrix one rules and has an actual story line. Maybe the movie was targeted to the younger audience or those who don’t value good action w/ a decent story line.
Big disappointment to true Matrix fans. X-Men was so much better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAHA" |

| "CanEHdian's Dave Brosha speaks with the legendary Randy Bachman, best-known for his work with The Guess Who and Bachman-Turner Overdrive, on the release of his Bravebelt I / II re-issue. Offering a unique perspective of some of Bachman's formative years, the Brave Belt releases are the "missing link" between his two best-known projects, and a collection of music that perhaps never got its due.
DB: You have just finished another successful tour. How did it feel this time around?
RB: Quite surreal in the sense that when you start as a band, you have expectations and dreams and you work toward those happening. It's surreal, and it's a dream that we never thought would happen. It's been a very strange thing but very rewarding...it's without words. Every night we all felt grateful to be there, stunned at the amount of people that are there, and stunned at their reactions. They go crazy; they know every lyric from eight years of age to eighty. It's unbelievable.
DB: You've just released your double Brave Belt CD. What made you decide to re-release this album now?
RB: The fact that the internet is so active; people can now speak to me indirectly. We've come to the realization that people care about it (Brave Belt). We had many e-mail requests for this old product and it was just a matter of us approaching Warner Brothers/Reprise and making a deal for us to release it.
DB: Can you give us an idea of what your mentality was like in that period (during the Brave Belt years), of what you wanted to accomplish musically?
RB: I just wanted to do something musical. I had just left a band that was number one at the time on all of the charts, both albums and singles. I knew that I couldn't compete with The Guess Who; I knew I couldn't find a voice that was as recognizable, as versatile, and of such quality as Burton Cummings'. I knew that I would always be a second-rate Guess Who because I didn't have all of the elements and machinery working on my own, which took (The Guess Who) about eight or nine years to get going. I decided that I was going to do something totally different so that nobody could say that this (new project) wasn't as good as The Guess Who. They may not like it, but I didn't want to be compared.
My love, growing up on the Prairies, was country music. Neil Young was with Buffalo Springfield at the time. It was really cool, the fact that he was doing country and folk. When you get successful, you can do pretty much whatever you want. When you are successful with a band like BTO or The Guess Who, you can get pegged into a certain rut or hole. You are still lucky - you have a certain type of people who keep buying your music - but then you can get typecast and have to keep making that same music, and you can change only slightly. It's risky to bounce around and change your type of music. Generally, you are held to a sound and that becomes your sound. That gets branded as your sound, and all the copycats start with it because the labels are looking for that sound. This explains your token Madonnas and token Backstreet Boys. With (Brave Belt) I didn't want that. I wanted to stay away from everything. I met Chad Allen (who had been in The Guess Who) in a hall at the CBC and he asked me to help him produce a record, so I said yes. We began writing together and after a short period he said that it didn't sound like his solo project any more...it sounded like a band. I agreed and we brought in some more guys. Ultimately, Chad didn't like the way it was going so I got Fred Turner in and we got heavier. Hearing those two albums (Brave Belt I / II ), you can hear the progression from where I started until the very last tip before we became BTO. Really "Brave Belt III" was re-titled "BTO I".
DB: "Brave Belt": did you decide upon that name alone or was it a group decision?
RB: We had all tried coming up with names, and looked to other bands for inspiration. Take 'Buffalo Springfield', whose name means nothing. That was the name of two tractors that (the band) saw outside of a construction site and they put these two names together. I knew that a name didn't have to describe the music and yet the name becomes the music; the music goes with it. I chose the name 'Brave Belt' from a conversation that I had. I was talking to this guy and he told me "if you want an Indian-sounding name why don't you use 'Brave Belt', meaning that when a man becomes brave he carries scalps on his belt". It's kind of gross, I suppose, but when you've been really scalped by the press and critics after leaving The Guess Who, why wouldn't you turn the name around? Like The Guess Who's Wheatfield Soul. When we first went to Toronto all the bands were imitating James Brown. Our music, being totally different, was branded by the press as "Wheatfield Soul". We turned things around this point and we ended up naming our first album Wheatfield Soul, leaving those guys in the dust. That album sold a million copies and had "These Eyes" on it. I wanted to take the name Brave Belt and turn it around and make it a proud name.
DB: Listening to the two CDs, the music is just as strong as anything The Guess Who or BTO put out...
RB: I listened to it last night for the first time since we started this project. I went out to my car and put it in and went to an empty parking lot and just listened and read the little pamphlet that came with it. After two or three songs I burst into tears. I thought "what a struggle for me to come from this band that had been number one and to find this music that I didn't know whether or not would be successful, and I really didn't know what it would become". When you play all that as a body of work there are four great songs, four mediocre songs and four bad songs. I didn't know it at the time; I was just doing my best. It was an innocent time of soul-searching. I got those guys (the other band members) right out of school. They were complete non-musicians that I trained. Nobody would play with me when I left The Guess Who. I was completely black listed. I couldn't get a decent musician to play with me, except Chad Allen, who had also been in The Guess Who and left. He and I bonded together, and I might not have gotten started without him even though he left sometime after that first album. It was his getting together with me that got me started on that road. Those albums are so important to me because, for the first time, I was making my own music, paying for it, finding strengths in it, and going through the process of finding the right music for the record. It led to me becoming a stronger producer for BTO and to ultimately help make them one of the strongest little bar and radio bands.
DB: I must admit that I had never heard the music of Brave Belt until recently, but when I listened to it I had the feeling that I had always known it. Do you ever feel disappointed that Brave Belt wasn't more successful at the time?
RB: Yes, but in fact it was. BTO was Brave Belt. With The Guess Who, it took us fifty-something singles before we had hits. I don't think that bands that make it on their first album are as strong as bands that don't: there is nowhere to go but down. The mentality in those days was to sign a band and hopefully the band would "get it together"; hopefully build on their strengths. It was just an evolutionary process that took us to almost every label on earth before Warner Music signed us.
DB: Is there a particular song from this release that grabs you as more powerful than the others.
RB: There are two, because of the great singers they feature: Chad Allen and C.F. Turner. The best Chad Allen song is "Dunrobin's Gone". I played that about five times yesterday. It's described as a 'Canadiana' song. It's a wonderful radio song. It has acoustic guitar and lots of harmony and you can sing with it right away. The Turner song is "Never Coming Home". That song really sounds like any BTO album. That really shows the two sides of the band. I, as a vocalist, like to fill in the blanks. My songs are like cheap Neil Young copies. Those two songs condense the two albums. They also show what the audiences wanted. I was desperate to keep the band together and find something that the public would like.
DB: What would you say were your biggest influences in that period?
RB: The first album's influences were James Taylor and Coco, and then they switched to Credence Clearwater Revival and Rolling Stones on the second. If you listen to Brave Belt III (BTO "I"), you hear both of the earlier albums.
DB: What about inspiration? After years of making music, is there one thing that stands out in your mind as a driving force?
RB: I learned at an early age that I was given something special when I was born, and that was the gift of music. When I was five I had violin lessons. I would go on the bus by myself; I couldn't even read with my violin under my arm, but it was a learning experience and I ultimately persevered. No matter what happened with BTO, The Guess Who, or anything that wasn't successful, it was always a learning experience. You take all the things that frighten you, and when you can get them to work for you all of sudden people are calling you a success.
DB: We've saved our most serious question for the last: on the cover of "Brave Belt I / II" you're wearing some pretty funky digs. I have to ask...do you still have the jacket?
RB: Actually, my son Tal has it now and he may wear it on the cover of his next album cover. I was in Winnipeg at the time, and that was typical for what we would wear there. That coat is made out of six coyotes. Every once in a while my kids would go through my closet and say what weird clothes I have; that jacket, bell-bottoms, and the like. Last closet-cleaning my son Tal saw it and said 'this coat is really cool'. I asked him if he would like it, since I had long since grown out of it. So, yes...it's still around (laughs).

| "What a mish mash of cartoon philosophy. While the Matrix Reloaded had its SFX & CGI moments it fell short of acheving it's goal to follow up the original movie.
This movie was like a sticky tape ball rolling across the globe picking up convenient bits of philosophy to supporting the W. Brothers look at Simulacra and Simulation as proposed by Jean Baudrillard. These supposedly brilliant film makers from Chicago took what they wanted and through out what they didn't. They could have done better.
hanging gears, the Zion orgy scene served no purpose unless it was a substitute for foreplay for Neo and Trinity.
The woman having a chemically induced orgasm in the restaurant served no purpose other than to support the outside fact that the W. Brothers are horn dogs.
So, for the $300 million spent on this film, Warner Brothers is going to make out big by appealing to the lowest common denominator, sex.
So sad..." |

============================================
Below I offer what a group of us has put together by actually mapping out the events and making a glossary of individuals and what they actually said – to possibly offer a bit more of an explanation to the path that this movie offered: I am not sure if to many people truly understand what this movie is actually saying, so I will try to explain it for those that don't get what they just saw… The first thing I recommend is that you try to remove your ego, people all have them - so they believe that the movie must be about people. But actually it is about software and mainframe code.
The main computer has been caught in a loop cycle for 5 iterations, and it is trying to find a variance that will break this cycle by utilizing a random bit anomaly piece of software (Neo), to allow it to fully complete its cycle. It has tried this before, but has always failed in its attempts. It is trying to factor in all variables of its program to make absolute sure of complete success before it attempts to actually implement the complete procedure, like a good piece of software (debugging iteself - "it is the "why" that is important"). Beta software waiting to go gold. … The only factor that was not counted in was an anomaly of two programs intersecting, and one becoming a self-replicating virus bent on absolute destruction (Smith), and the anomoly (Neo) complementing his program with protectorate software. …
This is a brilliant movie, that once you wrap your head around, its really just an ultimate version of Tron with no human watchers (Jeff Bridges), of a computer SuperNoc running through a simulation with all possible factors being worked first, before it initializes the program for real…
If Neo completes his role and meets his ultimate purpose as software, then our hero allows the computer to see all variances that it will need to contend with, so that it can fully implement the real program on our world…
Matrix - main base operating system…
Zion - secondary operating system for software that can no longer function in the main sytem - but can be utilized to build a new matrix system…
Neo - Random bit anomaly software for breaking loop cycle – utilized by the Oracle and Architect software to be a random variable to upgrade itself – upgraded with protectorate code from Smith (Anti-Virus)…
Trinity - complement software to aid in Neo's completion of purpose…
Morpheus and Crew - collector programs for mainframe to try to enable the end of the loop cycle…
Architect - Mainframe operating system…
Oracle - old Macro Software that has been part of all 5 iterations of the loop and can see all variances…
Oracle's Protector - Mainframe hard code software…
Merovingian - old Neo that did not fully implement objective in beta 5.0…
Merovingian's Wife - old trinity code…
Twins, and Merovingian's Guards - old base black ice protector code…
Head Counselor in Zion - Advisor for Mainframe that advises Neo along with his upgrade to not touch the main bios (engineering) systems…
Key Maker - come on now, to easy, a simple keygen…
Smith - self-replicating virus - now capable of moving to either system – infused with anomaly code from Neo…

| "I just saw the movie and while Neo flying and stopping Bullets was nice there was plenty else lacking. The action was great but I was expecting more of a "total" movie. All I can say is that I appreciate the first Matrix so much more now. Now that was good. I've asked around and several others were bored half the time or dissapointed. Neo was nothing more than Morpheus' henchman; he was just there to fight and look cool. I thought he would be more of a leader. Everything was rushed and TRIED to be a cohesive story with depth. And some of that pseudo philosophy 101 was so lame. How about more than just one-liners. No character development at all and nothing was "finished". They just kind of threw people in there and then they left after a couple scenes. Like the Twins. Really cool and badly used. I know it was part 2 of 3 and is to be concluded but come on. It should have been "more" for a 140 minute movie. The soundtrack was pretty bad too. I thought in half the scenes the music didn't go well or they should have picked something else. There was no great excitement when Neo was fighting all the agent smiths. The music was subdued and didn't do anything for the scene. It's like they screwed up in editing. Like a whole movie of cut scenes. I didn't think it flowed as well as the first. Anyone saying this was awesome is not looking at the total package in terms of story and plotlines and characters development and interactions. I loved the fight scenes too but so much else was missing. The wachowski's dropped the ball on this. It could have been a truly great movie if they did what they did like in the first one. It didn't have the same feel. I hope the third is better." |

As for the technical aspect, not being a true trilogy, but rather a 6+ hours long movie, matrix has a more suitable cutoff points than lord of the rings. If the end of reloaded didn't make the fans want to go back for revolution, i don't know what will =)" |

freeway scene, same thing, really good but too long. and what was the point of the
sex scene and the dance in Zion? it seemed like they were only there to appeal to the
pervs who think a rated R movie needs sex. however, the plot was interesting and the
graphics were good... i have a lot of respect for the difficulty and the effort put in,
and hey, it's the matrix, so it's still good. the first one was better though"

here. there are times in between the action scenes where u will have to think about
wut is going on. if u don't like that kinda thinking, then more than likely u will click the
1 star rating. but for others of u that have a mind and don't mind using it while
watching a movie, then i'm sure it'll blow you away. pretty much, if u loved the first
one, u wont be disappointed. if u hated the first one, then nothing new here except
some brilliant action scenes"

duplicate fight was really interesting in the beginning, but just got rediculous and
started looking more like and old fashioned tap dance routine than a matrix fight. the
freeway scene, same thing, really good but too long. and what was the point of the
sex scene and the dance in Zion? it seemed like they were only there to appeal to the
pervs who think a rated R movie needs sex. however, the plot was interesting and the
graphics were good... i have a lot of respect for the difficulty and the effort put in,
and hey, it's the matrix, so it's still good. the first one was better though"

As for you people that gave it 5 stars and said that there was "absolutely nothing wrong with it", are you stupid? I think that you're just trying to sound smart by saying that the philisophical bs in the movie is actually interesting. And as for the rest of the movie's faults: first we have the music during the 100 Smiths scene, could you please explain how Tank died, WTF was the point of the dancing and sex in Zion scene, and why exactly were we looking at a womans crotch in "matrix code"?

YES i understood all aspects of the film (though i didnt want to) so this cannot be used as an argument aginst me not liking it. basically the whole premise is sh*te! for a start why oh why be out of the matrix where life is peachy to fight against it in squalor and starvation?!?!?!? i wasnt dissapointed because i knew the film would be p*ss poor as i seem the first one. |
me (9/3/2003) |
| "I see an awful lot of debate on this page about the intelligence required to appreciate this movie. The truth is, the real smarts lie in realising that the background to The Matrix is not worth taking any more seriously than the Jedi stuff in Star Wars. I mean, it's not exactly Shakespeare, is it? It doesn't speak profound truths about life and the human condition. The philosophy behind the Matrix movies is thin, shoogly and actually pretty pretentious and it only provokes so much debate because its inadequacies are cloaked with obscure dialogue, piecemeal exposition and slick, stylish presentation. A thing isn't necessarily clever or worthwhile just because you have to go to a bit of trouble to understand it. You do indeed have to pay attention and think a bit to piece the ideas in the Matrix together into some kind of coherent theory of what's going on, but at the same time you have to ask yourself, is it really worth going to too much trouble over it? It's just a movie, guys. Maybe those who are saying they couldn't make head nor tail of it are simply reacting in the same way as the boy in the fairy tale who cried out that the emperor's wonderful new clothes didn't actually have any real substance.
I think that going to the cinema to see a blockbuster movie shouldn't be an IQ test. A movie can work on lots of levels (although it's a totally different kind of movie, think of Toy Story with fun and excitement for the little'uns and sly jokes and references to keep the grown-ups amused). If you didn't understand The Matrix movies, it doesn't necessarily mean you're thick. What it does mean is that the film's makers failed to get their message across at enough levels to keep everyone happy and involved. Similarly, if you did understand it all, it doesn't necessarily mean you're a genius. Maybe you're just more comfortable and familiar with the often oblique approach of the modern science fiction genre. Maybe you were just paying more attention. Or then again maybe you are indeed a genius who geeked out and spent time analysing a daft movie when you could have been finding a cure for cancer or solving the problem of global terrorism.
So stop the slagging, guys. We're none of us perfect and an admission of honest bewilderment is more admirable than trying to be clever at other people's expense. Respect the views of others and their aspirations. If someone wants to simply go and be entertained at the movies without having to engage the old brain too much, that's fine. Maybe they want to relax after a day's worth of being mega-smart at work.
As for the movie, it would have been a better one had it not been so po-faced about being basically just a decent enough science fiction story. The first movie was better. This one wandered too often, had erratic pacing (the dance/sex scene and the car chase just went on and o-o-o-nnnn!)and the characterisation seemed to take a back seat in favour of the special effects which have become self-consciously too clever for their own good at times. It was OK. It passed a couple of hours entertainingly enough. Dunno if I'll bother seeing the next one." |

The Matrix was a great film that made you think, really think. It started a cult follwing and made the majority of its viewers question reality.
The second comes across as a power trip in the form of a movie, reminding people who invented bullet time and its original home, with the Wachowski Bros in the Matrix.
Matrix Reloaded definitly boasts some of the best special effects to date, but after a while it grows tiresome watching CG guy pummeling another CG guy.
All in all, I give it three stars. Its a must buy for the fans of The Matrix prodigy, but hardcore fans may find this second episode in the Matrix world dissappointing." |

Neo's nemesis (will not spoil) is a great shock, and at the same time a ride by your seat fight sequence. Although this movie recoups some of the same dynamic as the first film, the visual effects artists have once again outdone themselves and I would be as bold to say that they have once again set a standard in movie cinema. | "This movie only consisted of two things. Esoteric conversations about choice and drawn-out slow-motion kung-fu. Notice how there was no mention of plot, character development or a cohesive storyline... that's because there wasn't any. This movie raises the bar on special effects and drops the ball everywhere else... oh well at least it dropped the ball in slow motion." |

Just one thing, Johannes Drei, the scene with the french is the key of the movie, so if u dont like frenchies only cose of Irak, u are a NOOB. Just use ur brain and open ur eyes.

 |
Johannes Drei (5/15/2003) |
| "Okay, I just got back from the movie and apparently there is some dispute about whether or not it was a good movie or not. It was definitely very entertaining, with a lot of work put into the action sequences (even if they did look sort of video gamish). Overall I thought the visual effects people did their job quite well, and I commend them for that. As for the W Brothers, I seriously don't know what to think. On one hand, the plot was messy and sporadic, with sudden bursts of revelations about the workings of the Matrix (backdoors, the oracle being a part of the master plan to trick "the one" into thinking that he is saving zion, and the "architect" suddenly thrown in near the end of the film) and a few "philosophical" phrases and perspectives that tried to bring back some of Matrix 1's original style. On the other hand, I enjoyed learning more about the matrix (which I think is quite an ingenious idea even for cyberpunk stories). One thing I had doubts about was whether or not this movie would have as revolutionary and mind boggling of a plotline as the first, since in the first we're introduced to the Matrix in the first place. But this movie did, in fact, add a few other perspectives to the whole story (i.e. the human colony by the earth's core, zion, and the emphasis on the more human side of things such as neo and trinity's relationship and the political/religious differences among the people themselves). I think many people underestimate the amount of thought given to the building of this story, even if the final product did come out kind of messy. I do think the movie could have done without the "french dude" section entirely. Also, the idea of the key maker seemed very cliche. But aside from the obvious mistakes in the film, I think it was actually quite a brilliant and worthy sequel to the first movie. This movie does make the original look much simpler (and the original was beautiful in its simplicity; almost paradoxically). In addition, the action sequences were very pleasing (even if they didn't look entirely realistic) and some of the things neo did surpassed anything that has ever been attempted in a movie before. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't perfect, and there was much room for improvement, but they did set a very high standard that I think will be hard for other film-makers to achieve. Overall, I had a very entertaining time in the theater, and I'll give the movie 4 out of five stars." |

| "It was an unbalanced mesh of editing room floor scraps, when you compare it to WHAT IT COULD HAVE BEEN! I give the producers one thing though...you can make a hell of a lot of money off of a movie, before the word gets out about how lazy everyone producing it was. They're probalby saying right now, "Lets do a shitty Matrix 1,2,3,4,5,and 6, until we squeeze the last dollar out of first impression filming tactics, before actually creating anything as good as the 1st one we accidently cared about. Trinity ugly, get Sara Michelle Gellar, Keeana can't act(talks like he just woke up), get Matt Daemon. Oh yeah, I'll still buy the CD though." |

After my mom dropped me off at the mall my goose bump's were so big i misstook one for my weenie when I when to diddle with my doodle before the movie to my wallet portrait of Trinity. God damn Neo is one lucky dude, if i were him i would move out of my parents basement in supper slow mo while wearing dark sunglasses in the middle of the night. im sure all of you dude'a roonies out there feel the same, and I agree this movie needs way more satrs than four, but hey no Tinity boobies, no five stars." |

This movie has had more hype added to
it, than anything else before. In terms
of effects, its the best thing out there.
But, in terms of story line and plot, its
gets a little bit corny. They should've focused
more on the script. I actually give this a
3.5/5. " |

| "i just saw this movie and i must say, it was absolutely spectacular, if by spectacular you mean horrible in every way. this movie was written by 12 year olds who have suffered beatings by the football team at their local strip mall. everything was obvious and quite stupid with some philosophy 101 garbage thrown in for "sophistication". this movie must please everyone who needs to see the sun and has never read or seen anything of intelligence. the first movie was alright, this one freaking sucked. the special effects were terrible (slow motion everything!), but one redeeming factor was that lois lane was hotter in this superman than in the other ones. this wasn't the worst movie i have ever seen, for i hear there's yet another one coming out really soon! gee i wonder what will happen?!

Mike W. (5/15/2003) |
| "Lets be honest...the movie was NOT utter shit, but it could have been a lot better. The layout of the movie was lacking...what i mean is that the first matrix built up to the action with really good drama. Action is great in this movie, but thrown about the movie sporatically. Some of the scenes lasted way to long for what they really were The soundtrack to the movie was horrible (fast techno crap), and finally leading up to the ending was a big dissapointment.
The movie also tried to give mindless details to the viewers as if some of us really gave a shit. Do i care about the water filtration system in zion? Another ploy by the directors to supply way to much information about the viewers that really isnt neccesary...To pass time? Who knows. You can expect to find "Matrix Geeks" taking notes in the theatre of tons of boring and mindless details that are supplied.
In essence, if you want to see action---GO SEE THE MOVIE IMMEDIATLEY. I wont promise it may be boring half the time, but the action is good. If you planned on this movie being anything like the first when it came to screenplay and that general "matrix feeling" (edge of your seat), you wont find that here.

You might not like the story if you have a low IQ, but try to listen to what happens in the movie, because it may be long-winded to some, but I thought it was excellent. This is just the first half of a four hour movie. The W Bros took the movie and cut it in half to make a "trilogy" (not to mention that a four hour movie wouldn't do so well at the Box Office, they would have to double the ticket price). I think the holes create a lot of anticipation for "Revolutions" and it should. Imagine seeing half of "Star Wars" or one of the Godfather" movies. I believe all the holes will all be filled in with the final movie. I wish people would spend a little time thinking about their posts before letting diarrhea flow out of their keyboards. I give it four stars." |

| "It's not a FILM, it's an experience and a truly AMAZING one at that!
Ultimately the point of a film is to entertain and grip the audience from start to finish; the matrix reloaded did exactly that - i could not keep my eyes from the screen, the action, the intense scenes and plot all made for a fantastic and completely mind-blowing film that completely fulfilled the main objective of any film: to entertain.
Yes, I will admit, the storyline is complex - but without the storyline all there would be is special effects and what is the point in that? To those of you who didn't quite grasp the plot and were left with questions at the end, DO NOT B TROUBLED! The film poses questions, like in any other which is part of a set of films. It leaves you thinking, it asks you not to just switch off while watching this film but actually use your brain as well as wowing at all the fantastic effects. And, of course, everybody - whether they liked the film or not - will be seeing the conclusion just to satisfy their questions - it's the question that drives us....
And our questions will drive us to see the final part of the story - we will see how far the rabbit hole goes...." |

the ONE got a bit mushy at times like, 'trinity i need you' and all of that, and of course the sex. but still it was amazing.
the twins i think will have more of a part in the next one. i think they are cool, the way they can go transparemt and all.
the comsept at the end that there had been NEO more than one time, and zion destroyed.
i liked it when he was in the room showing other neos reactions to the questions.
great film a must see, ending wasnt as gud as it should of been though." |
