| Overall Rating: | Disappointing |
| I have eaten at Granita many times over the past 5 years, but the latest trip was massively disappointing. Whilst the service remains good, the food had taken a significant step downhill. Neither my partner nor I got more than half way through the main courses. The manager did ask us if anything was wrong, and we politely explained the shortcomings (see below). However, no attempt was made to recify this - no alternatives, or even a dessert on the house were offered. The bill was presented with all items fully charged. We did not leave a tip and explained that whilst the service was generally good, the food was far below the standrds to be expected (and previously maintained in Granita). The waitress seemed somewhat aggrieved at this. This used to be one of the best restaurants in Islington but has declined to the point where it is best avoided - look for alternatives. |

| Food Rating: | Mediocre |
| My main course of seared beef with cepes was ordered rare. I was presented with a medium peppersteak accompanied by 2 soggy cepe heads. The beef was tough and tasteless, and swimming in some sort of unwanted watery juice. My partner's sea bream was a very sad, thin stale piece of over-cooked fillet, and was also tasteless. She managed no more than four mouthfuls before giving up. Starters were also way below par for this formerly good restaurant. I didn't bother with dessert - it was clearly not worth pursuing. |

| Service Rating: | Mediocre |
| Generally OK but fell down when the manager, having asked why we returned most of the food, made no attempt to rectify matters. Also the waitress tried to argue when we did not leave a tip. |

| Ambience Rating: | Mediocre |
| The stark interior was once felt as chic minimalist, and for as long as it served good food and remained popular, this was fine. But definitely not worth paying medium / high prices for the food now being served. |

| Overall Rating: | Very good |
| An airy but comfortable place. One that I would return to. |

| Food Rating: | Very good |
| The choice is quite slim but we managed to find sufficient variety to satisfy our small table. |

| Service Rating: | Good |
| The service was efficient without being exceptional. A reasonable level was maintained however. |

| Ambience Rating: | Good |
| The furniture is simple but basic. Adds to the feel but can make the place look a bit empty. |
